Francine’s love for animals started at home. Growing up, her dad rescued dogs from the piers in Brooklyn, and the whole family pitched in to care for them and find them good homes. That early experience shaped everything that followed—today, as a Veterinary Assistant at Mid Island Veterinary Practice, helping care for animals remains one of her greatest joys.
Francine believes the first moments of a visit set the tone for everything after, so she greets every client and patient with a big smile, a soft voice, and a kind demeanor. Her goal is simple: to give every pet who walks through the door the same love and care she would give her own.
She describes the practice as honest, compassionate, and caring—a team of genuinely compassionate people, highly skilled doctors, and staff who would go to the ends of the earth to help. Open, willing collaboration is how she approaches her work, because as she puts it, teamwork makes the dream work.
Her personal philosophy is a short one: above all, be kind. Her own pets are family—her very heart and soul—and outside of work, she helps care for a flock of pigeons that became orphaned after their caretaker passed away.
